Training to become a gardener specializing in gardening and landscaping takes place within the dual system, lasts a total of 3 years, and consists of:
- Practical training throughout the city
- School-based training at the vocational school in Oppenheim (opens in a new tab)
- Inter-company courses at the Chamber of Agriculture in Bad Kreuznach, with the option of a stay in Crete
- Training courses at the German Agricultural Technology Institute (DEULA (opens in a new tab)) in Bad Kreuznach, which specifically prepare students for the exams

Recruitment requirements
- At least satisfactory vocational maturity or qualified secondary school diploma
- German language skills at level C1 with at least satisfactory performance
An internship is part of the application process.

Remuneration
1st year of training: €1,368.26/month
2nd year of training: €1,418.20/month
3rd year of training: €1,464.02/month
