The apprenticeship to become an automotive mechatronics technician specializing in commercial vehicle technology is conducted under the dual training system, lasts a total of 3 ½ years, and consists of:
- Practical training in the workshops of the Mainz Fire Department or the City of Mainz’s Public Works Department
- Classroom instruction at the vocational school in Ingelheim
- And inter-company training courses with targeted exam preparation at the Rheinhessen Chamber of Crafts

Remuneration
1st year of training: €1,368.26/month
2nd year of training: €1,418.20/month
3rd year of training: €1,464.02/month
4th year of training: €1,527.59/month
