The Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz is a non-university research institution and scholarly society. As one of eight science academies in Germany that are members of the Union of Academies, its goal is to cultivate science and literature as well as to preserve and promote culture. The Mainz Academy currently oversees 33 research projects from all disciplines with a focus on long-term basic research. It is also committed to promoting young scientists, digitizing research data and results, and fostering international cooperation.
