The Deutsche Bundesbank focuses its collecting activities primarily on paintings, works on paper, and sculptures from German-speaking countries. This gives interested parties the opportunity to engage with works from the recent past and the present on a daily basis. The collection now comprises several thousand objects. Taken as a whole, the works provide an insight into various artistic developments of the 20th and 21st centuries. Works by younger artists keep the collection alive and complement the existing holdings.
