You need a license to provide commercial passenger transport services using buses in occasional transport.

Occasional transport includes:

• Excursion trips
• Holiday trips
• Trips with rental buses

The permit is limited to a maximum of 10 years. Before your temporary permit expires, you can submit a corresponding application for renewal to the licensing authority responsible for you. On the basis of the new, again temporary, permit, you can continue your bus operation seamlessly.

• You are or were already in possession of a bus license as an entrepreneur.
• You can guarantee the financial viability of the business.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are reliable.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are professionally qualified.
• You have your place of business or branch office in Germany.

There are no notes or special features.

  on your application will be made within 3 months. Processing may be extended by 3 months if necessary.

  • First and last name of the applicant
  • Place of residence and business
  • For natural persons: date of birth, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles to be used
• Certificates of service or examination certificates confirming the professional competence of the applicant or the person appointed to manage the business
• Equity capital certificate, additional certificate if applicable, not older than 3 months
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office, the municipality, the social security institution, and the employers' liability insurance association, not older than 3 months:
  • from the company
  • the legal representative
  • the person appointed to manage the business or traffic management)
• Certificate of good conduct for submission to the authorities
• Extract from the Central Trade Register
• Extract from the Driver Fitness Register (FAER)
• Vehicle list
• Proof of liability insurance for buses, including risk index (WKZ)
• Business registration

The amount of the fees depends on

• the number of vehicles and
• the duration of the permit.
