Christmas market, apply for a stand

The traditional Mainz Christmas market takes place every year under the bright lights of the market square and the adjacent cathedral squares.

What do I need to know?

Service description

The Mainz city administration only allocates stands at the Christmas market as part of a special call for applicants for a period of three years.

The allocation of stands for the Christmas markets from 2024 to 2026 has been completed.

Applications for the supporting program and the artists' workshop can be sent informally to the Office for Economic Affairs, Real Estate, Trade Fairs, and Markets throughout the year.

The Christmas market always begins on the Thursday before the first Sunday in Advent and ends on December 23. Opening hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The call for applicants for the Christmas markets from 2024 to 2026 was published on December 22, 2023, and ended on February 6, 2024. Applications had to be received within this period.

Late applications will not be considered.
