For the burial of deceased individuals, you can purchase the right to use a burial plot of your choice at cemeteries in Mainz—either in the event of a recent death or as a precautionary measure—for either in-ground or urn burials.

The location of the burial plot is selected on-site at the cemetery.

In the event of a recent death, the funeral home you have engaged will apply to the cemetery operator, Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz, to acquire the right of use.

For a pre-arranged burial plot, you can submit the application directly on-site at the cemetery. You will then receive a notice from the cemetery administration regarding the applicable fees.

• Personal application: valid identification document
• Application on behalf of another person by an authorized representative: power of attorney and valid ID of the authorized representative
