"Shaping Mainz together" is set to become a reality in the state capital of Mainz. The guidelines for citizen participation in Mainz, which were adopted by the city council on April 6, 2022, form the basis for this and provide the framework for successful citizen participation. Among other things, the guidelines provide for the establishment of an advisory board for citizen participation in Mainz, consisting of 1/3 Mainz residents, 1/3 Mainz faction members of the parties represented in the city council, and 1/3 city administration employees. This advisory board was constituted at the beginning of February 2023. The guidelines also provide for the establishment of a coordination office for citizen participation in the mayor's office. This office has been active since mid-2022.
