MEM is the volunteer office for Mainz. MEM acts as a cross-organizational, cross-sector, and cross-target group network for promoting civic engagement. MEM employees inform, advise, encourage, and train people who want to get involved in Mainz. The volunteer office is also a point of contact for public welfare organizations that work or want to work with volunteers.

The MEM Volunteer Office is a cooperation project between the City of Mainz and the Regional Diakonie Rheinhessen. It is a point of contact for all new and long-established Mainz residents who want to make a meaningful contribution to a committed city and a livable community.

The Office for Youth and Family Affairs of the state capital Mainz has set itself the goal of offering an information platform for all children and young people in Mainz with JIM. The aim is to provide information about what Mainz has to offer young people aged 6 and above, for example: leisure activities, concerts, projects, special events for girls and boys, news from the world of politics, and updates on youth protection laws.
