Here, every guest is still personally welcomed by senior boss Bruno Bellini or his son Pierro: at Como Lario, a popular Italian restaurant near Neubrunnenplatz. In a rustic, cozy atmosphere—deliberately kept in the style of the restaurant's opening in the 1960s—guests enjoy typical Italian food and wine.

Busy service is the norm here, as Bruno Bellini has made a name for himself beyond the city limits of Mainz with Como Lario: Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl are among the most famous guests, as the pictures on the wall impressively document. In addition to these memories, numerous restaurant awards and pictures of Lake Como, the Bellinis' home, adorn the walls.

"We do everything ourselves! From the tomato sauce to the tiramisu, we only use high-quality ingredients, which is why our food always tastes so good," says Pierro Bellini, explaining the restaurant's concept. The Bellinis also offer a wide range of Italian wines, which they select themselves at wine tastings.
