Playgrounds and water playgrounds

Fun in the countryside - numerous playgrounds in the city provide this. From spring onwards, there's even more refreshment - at the free water playgrounds. On your marks and let the fun begin!

Playgrounds

A children's playground with a climbing frame, a girl in a purple and white striped dress and pink pants is climbing.

Mainz has over 180 public playgrounds, soccer fields, skate parks, and meeting places for children and young people.

The exact locations of the playgrounds can be found on the children's city map. It is available free of charge from all local government offices and can be downloaded from the website.

Water playgrounds

A girl in a red polka-dotted swimsuit sits by the pool and looks down a slide shaped like an elephant.

The water playgrounds in Mainz are a free summer treat for the whole family. Even the youngest children, wearing sun hats, appreciate the cool water. Older siblings give anyone who can't run fast enough a cold shower, while mom and dad paddle in the water. Later, everyone gathers on a blanket for a picnic with delicious sandwiches, fruit, and fresh lemonade from the cooler.
