Contemporary witnesses in stone
As part of the "Historical Mainz" series, information boards have been attached to numerous historically significant and culturally valuable buildings, monuments and places for many years.
More than 230 plaques and steles—some featuring custom-made plans and drawings—now provide visitors and guests with a wealth of information about the buildings’ history, their uses, and the architects and clients who commissioned them. New ones are added regularly.
Latest news
With the inauguration of a new plaque as part of the "Historical Mainz" project, the state capital of Mainz is commemorating the Neutor School in the old town of Mainz, which was ceremoniously opened on April 19, 1926 and is considered an important testimony to reform education in Mainz.
