Parking garages are not available everywhere, we will tell you where and for how long you can park your vehicle on the street.
Are you parking correctly?
Please keep in mind: Electric vehicle charging stations (identified by the charging poles and corresponding signage) are intended for charging electric vehicles.
Specifically, this means that cars without a visible charging plug may not use this designated parking space at any time. Anyone who parks their vehicle here without charging it should expect to have their vehicle towed. In addition, a warning or fine will be issued.
Parking at the parking ticket machine
Need to quickly pop to the bakery, pick up a parcel at the post office, take your girlfriend to the main train station, and then find a free parking space nearby? Mainz currently has two parking zones, with around 180 parking meters managing the very limited public parking space.
What should you do if a parking ticket machine is out of order?
Set your arrival time on a parking disc and place it clearly visible behind the windshield. You can then park for up to the maximum parking time indicated on the parking ticket machine. Cell phone parking
Drivers in Mainz can save themselves the hassle of searching for change at parking ticket machines. You can pay by cash card at many machines, but "mobile parking" is also possible in all parking zones with parking ticket machines. Mobile parkers must first register on the website www.mobil-parken.de (opens in a new tab) with one of the certified operators active in Mainz. Fourteen cities in Germany (e.g., Bingen, Wiesbaden, Hanau, Neustadt/Weinstraße, Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin) are already working together with this nationwide, cross-provider platform.
Mobile phone-enabled parking spaces are marked with standard stickers on the parking ticket machines. The stickers display a six-digit mobile phone parking zone number. As a rule, the parking process is activated and terminated by a call to a mobile phone or landline number or an 0800 number (free of charge). Only the time parked is billed. At the end of the month, the user receives the data and parking fees in the form of a collective invoice from the operator with whom they have registered. The actual parking fees are the same for mobile phone parkers and users of parking ticket machines, but mobile phone parkers may also have to pay a system fee per parking session.

Resident parking
In Mainz, several areas of the city are designated as resident parking areas. The parking spaces in these parking areas are available to residents during the specified times. Eligible persons are not assigned a specific parking space with their permit, but only a parking area.
