MANAMA - the sustainable city plan
Places for healthy eating and sustainable consumption in Mainz
Where in Mainz can you shop sustainably? Where can you share leftover food with others? Where in the city can you refill your water bottle or enjoy a fair trade coffee? The sustainable city map of Mainz provides the answers to these and many other questions.
This themed city map highlights places that promote healthy eating and sustainable consumption and shows the many opportunities for swapping and sharing, upcycling and repairing, and shopping plastic-free, regionally, organically, and fairly.
It includes farm shops, fair trade locations, cafés and restaurants with a predominantly or large proportion of organic/regional or fair trade products, textile shops that offer certified goods (GOTS, IVN Best, Fair Wear Foundation, Fairtrade), organic shops and bakeries, weekly markets, inclusive businesses, second-hand and exchange shops, upcyclers, refill stations, community gardens, and bookcases.
The city map is available at local government offices, in the Mainz Store on the market square, and is also offered free of charge in some shops and other locations in the city, as well as in the Mainz environmental store. The map is available for download at the bottom of the page.
The sustainability city map was developed by the Agenda Office of the state capital Mainz in cooperation with the Parks and Environment Department. A local contribution from Mainz to the 17 Global Sustainability Goals of Agenda 2030.
