Biodiversity
Together for more nature in the city - Mainz biodiversity strategy. The Mainz Biodiversity Strategy shows which measures can be used to promote nature in Mainz. It is a guideline for ecological action by the administration and urban society.
Biological diversity, or biodiversity, refers to the diversity of animals, plants, and microorganisms, their genes, and habitats—in short, the entirety of nature that surrounds us.
In order to be well positioned in terms of expertise and organization to tackle nature conservation tasks, the state capital of Mainz has joined the alliance "Kommunen für biologische Vielfalt e. V." (Communities for Biological Diversity).

This strategy was unanimously adopted by the city council on February 12, 2020.
