Best Of Wine Tourism Award 2010
Architecture, parks and gardens: Domhof Winery, Guntersblum
Incidentally, the owners of the Domhof Winery in Guntersblum have created Rheinhessen’s first wine aroma garden in the grounds of their estate: the winery’s four signature grape varieties, typical of the region, are paired with plants that represent the wines’ aromas.
The garden also serves as an event center. With their specialization in special events, Chris and Alexander Baumann offer the expertise needed to turn a private celebration into a memorable experience. An official branch of the registry office has been set up in the Domhof’s old horse stable, ensuring that nothing stands in the way of a perfect wedding in a historic setting. The historic estate, which formerly belonged to the Cathedral Chapter of the City of Worms, has been family-owned since 1874 and is now managed with the enthusiasm of the younger generation. In 2010, the winery received the Best of Award in the Architecture, Parks, and Gardens category.
