All wine-producing companies and businesses related to wine tourism (wine shops, hotels, restaurants, wine bars, catering, cultural event organizers, wine and food producers with a focus on sustainability and/or regionality, event venues, regional interest groups, event organizers, etc.) are eligible to participate.

As an award winner, you will be included in the network's extensive public relations work. In addition to press releases in national and international media, your company will be included in the list of award winners on the national and international internet and social media presence, featured in blog posts and an image film, and presented in the Mainz|Rheinhessen wine guide.

This means that you and your company will be promoted in all member cities and at all trade fairs and events where the Great Wine Capitals Global Network is represented. In addition to a trophy, you will also receive a plaque for your company, which will identify you as a Best of award winner to the outside world.

The Best Of Wine Tourism Award is not about the wine itself, but rather about how the respective companies utilize their wine tourism potential and what they make of it.

What does the company offer tourists? What is its focus on sustainability and environmental protection? What services do you offer, and what about food and accommodation? Good wine is a given.

The application is completely free of charge! There are also no follow-up costs on the part of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

We require a complete set of application documents, two digital images of your company, and one copy of each of your brochures.

No, you do not have to fly to the international finals as a national prize winner. The international prize will be accepted locally by a representative and then presented in Mainz.

However, you are welcome to travel to the annual general meeting at your own expense. We will inform you about the program items and hotel packages on offer.

There is no limit to how often you can participate. If you have already won twice in the same category, you must apply in a different category the next time.

While the two categories of wine gastronomy and accommodation are still relatively clearly defined, the areas of wine tourism & service, innovative wine tourism offers, and the other three categories are open to interpretation, but can also be narrowed down quite easily. Do you have an offer that sets you apart from other businesses? Then wine tourism & service is the right choice for you. Don't start with the category, but think about what your unique selling point is. What is it about your business that particularly appeals to guests?
