Reading summer 2026
The Summer of Reading will take place again from June 15 to August 16, 2026 and invites children and young people aged six to 16 to take part in exciting reading adventures.
Once again this year, there are plenty of great prizes and certificates of participation waiting for everyone who takes an active part in the Summer Reading Program.
The books specially selected for the Reading Summer await all participants at the Children’s Library of the Central Library as well as at the Gonsenheim Neighborhood Library. There, you’ll find a diverse selection of funny, exciting, spooky, and romantic stories just waiting to be read. For slightly older readers, the LesBar also offers new, suitable reading material.
Anyone who reads and reviews at least three books will receive a Reading Summer certificate and also secure a chance to win prizes in two drawings: one statewide organized by the State Library Center and one held directly on-site at the Anna Seghers Public Library.
All children and teens aged six to 16 are eligible to participate. To join, simply sign up with your free library card. The Public Library looks forward to welcoming many book-loving participants and to a summer full of exciting stories.
