Martina Martin will take over as CEO of GVG on July 1, 2026

The shareholders thank Franz Ringhoffer for his many years of dedication and his significant contribution to the development of GVG. Under his leadership, numerous challenging projects were successfully implemented, and the company was further strengthened as a reliable partner for the City of Mainz and its economic development.

Martina Martin, a proven expert on the company, is taking over as managing director. She has been with the City of Mainz’s group of companies for 33 years and has accompanied and helped shape GVG’s development in various roles. Since 1999, she has worked exclusively for GVG, where her responsibilities have included project management and oversight. In 2014, she was appointed as an authorized representative, and she has served as the company’s authorized signatory since 2017.

“Martina Martin embodies continuity and experience at a key intersection of Mainz’s urban development and is the next true expert to serve as managing director of our ZBM. GVG is a key partner for us when strategic goals are transformed into concrete projects. This is currently evident in the ‘Stadtquartier Am Pariser Tor’ project on the site of the former GFZ barracks: there, new opportunities are emerging for living, working, research, and the further strengthening of Mainz as a biotechnology hub. “I look forward to working with Martina Martin and wish her every success in her new role,” says Mayor Nino Haase

“I thank the shareholders for the trust they have placed in me and am very much looking forward to this new role. Franz Ringhoffer led GVG with great dedication and a high level of expertise. Building on this strong foundation, I would like to work together with our dedicated team to continue the company’s successful development,” explains Martina Martin.

With its small, highly qualified team, GVG is an important partner to the City of Mainz in the development of economic and infrastructure projects. Its responsibilities include attracting businesses to strengthen the city’s position as a business hub and to generate revenue for the City of Mainz, including at the Mainz Business Park. In addition, the company undertakes challenging trust projects such as the stadium or the “Stadtquartier Am Pariser Tor” (the former GFZ barracks).

ZBM Managing Director Daniel Gahr is also pleased with the appointment to this leadership position: “With the appointment of Martina Martin, GVG continues to consciously prioritize continuity and extensive expertise.”

With the appointment of Martina Martin, GVG is consciously prioritizing continuity and experience. Her many years of service within the company, her comprehensive knowledge of the projects, and her close ties to the city of Mainz provide the ideal foundation for continuing GVG’s successful work and shaping future challenges together with the team.
