Final report of the auditors
The Audit Office of the City of Mainz regularly presents the results of its audit measures to the Lord Mayor and the City Council. These are used for administrative management and control, whereby the results are summarized in an annual final report and made publicly accessible.
The audit office of the state capital Mainz must submit the audit results compiled over the year directly to the mayor so that he can draw the necessary conclusions (cf. Sections 112 VI, 28 II, 1. HS GemO).
The audit measures of the Audit Office are therefore primarily internal to the authority and serve the purpose of administrative control. In addition, these audit results must be summarized in a final report, which is to be submitted to the city council annually (cf. §§ 112 VII 1, 28 II 1 GemO). This is intended to provide the city council with reliable information on administrative processes with regard to its own strategically important tasks and its proportional control function. The final report is discussed in public council meetings and is thus made public.
The Audit Office compiles the final reports on this page for easy access.
From 2022 onwards, for the first time, Part II will report on the other activities and further activities of the Audit Office in addition to the legally required content.
