Mainz Environmental Shop
At the Mainz Environmental Center, you can receive expert, free, and independent advice on virtually any issue related to environmental protection. The Mainz Environmental Center is operated by KAW Mainz|Bingen AöR and Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz AÖR, in cooperation with the municipal sanitation department Stadtreinigung Mainz and the Parks and Environment Office.
Lithium-ion batteries can no longer be returned
Due to a potential fire hazard, electronic devices containing built-in lithium-ion batteries (e.g., smartphones, e-cigarettes, electric toothbrushes) or lithium-ion batteries themselves may no longer be dropped off at the Mainz Environmental Store. As before, these items can still be disposed of at all recycling centers, waste disposal centers, and retail stores.
