We, the Mainz city administration, offer you the opportunity to complete voluntary service in various areas.
Depending on your skills and preferences, you can decide whether you would like to do voluntary service with the state capital of Mainz as a voluntary social year (FSJ), voluntary ecological year (FÖJ), voluntary social year in culture (FSJ Kultur), voluntary social year in sports (FSJ Sport) or federal voluntary service (BFD).
Requirements for the voluntary service
- Completion of 9 years of full-time compulsory education
- 1 year (min. 6 months to max. 18 months possible)
- Willingness to participate in educational seminars

The voluntary service providers for the state capital Mainz are the German Red Cross for social services, the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Office for cultural services, the FÖJ association for ecological services, and the Rhineland-Palatinate Sports Youth Association for sports services.
