The umbrella organization for all self-help groups for kidney patients, dialysis patients, and transplant recipients currently brings together around 16,000 affected individuals throughout Germany. Its goal is to facilitate exchange and mutual assistance among its members. The federal association represents the interests of its members in politics and society and ensures exchange with patient associations in neighboring European countries.
