The orchestra is dedicated to promoting classical music. The ensemble has been in existence for over 20 years and meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p.m. in the parish hall of the Protestant Church in Mainz-Finthen for rehearsals. Led by a

professional conductor, the 20 or so amateur members mainly play works from the Baroque, Viennese Classical, and Romantic periods. The orchestra consists of violin, viola, cello, oboe, flute, clarinet, horn, bassoon, and piano. New musicians are welcome, and we would like to see more support for the string section.
