With around 225,000 members, the social association VdK Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. is the largest interest group representing people with disabilities, the chronically ill, those covered by social insurance, and pensioners in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Its goals are the professional and social integration and social security of its members. 

The VdK social welfare association is politically and religiously neutral and is financed by membership fees.
