ZMO - Cooperation with Eastern Europe e.V., Regional Association Mainz
Purpose of the association
In 1971, the ZMO was founded in Mainz by displaced persons as the "Central Association of Central and Eastern Germans." With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the name was changed to "Cooperation with Eastern Europe," while retaining the abbreviation ZMO.
Today, the ZMO association sees itself as part of the general integration effort, beyond its ties to Eastern Europe. Migration movements are becoming increasingly important in Germany and Europe. Their positive development is having a growing impact on the coexistence of all sections of the population.
Thanks to the active and ongoing support and cooperation of the Social Affairs Department of the City of Mainz, the long-standing collaboration with the Office for Migration and Integration and the Department of Culture, as well as the Foreigners' Advisory Council of the City of Mainz, we have been able to further develop and expand our work.
Association register: 90 VR 3620
