Authorized persons may inspect the building files of existing buildings. Please contact us in advance to arrange an appointment, as the building files must first be compiled from the archives.

Building files contain, in particular:

• Building permits (or other official decisions)
• Construction documents (plans, other construction drawings, calculations, etc.)
• Structural stability certificates, i.e., structural analyses
• The year of construction

Eligible persons include, in particular:

1. Owners (proof required, e.g., extract from the land register)
2. Prospective buyers (power of attorney from the owners)
3. Other authorized representatives (architects, engineers, real estate agents, property managers; also with power of attorney from the owners)

In special exceptional cases, third parties not involved in the proceedings may also inspect the file. However, these persons must prove that they have a legitimate interest.
A legitimate interest exists if the person making the request has a significant need for information for the purpose of enforcing rights that cannot be satisfied by any means other than inspection of the file.

Owner:

• Current land registry extract or corresponding documents, such as a purchase agreement or property tax assessment as the property owner
• Identification document

Other authorized persons:
additional written power of attorney from the owner

• minimum of 30 euros, maximum of 600 euros
• plus costs for analog and digital copies
