You have a residence permit issued in recognition of your foreign professional qualifications and have been placed in a job through an agreement between the Federal Employment Agency and the employment services of your country of origin.

If the recognition process is not yet complete, you can apply to extend your residence permit.

To do so, you must meet the same requirements as when you first applied. This includes ensuring that you have sufficient means to support yourself during the extension period. Additionally, the Federal Employment Agency must approve the employment. It will only grant approval if you are pursuing the recognition process with the competent authority.

If your residence permit is extended, it will again be temporary. The residence permit for the recognition of professional qualifications based on an agreement with the Federal Employment Agency is extended for 1 year at a time, up to a maximum duration of 3 years.

Even with the extended residence permit, you may work up to 20 hours per week on the side.
