Upon request, any natural or legal person may obtain information about violations of commercial law provisions and legally binding penalty decisions entered in the Central Trade Register, insofar as they relate to that person or business.
The Federal Central Register of the Federal Office of Justice in Bonn issues the information from the Central Trade Register.
Applications must be submitted to the Citizens' Office of the Mainz City Administration.
The Federal Office of Justice sends the information by post.

Requirements
For personal information or information for a company not listed in the commercial register:
- Residence must be in Mainz.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
For company-related information:
- Local jurisdiction is determined by the company's registered office.
- Place of entry in the commercial register (Mainz Local Court)
- The application must be submitted by the company's legal representative.
Pursuant to Section 150(2) sentence 2 of the Trade Regulation Act (
Gewerbeordnung) Section 150 Information upon request by the person concerned (
1) Upon request, the registration authority shall provide a person with information about the contents of the register concerning them.
(2) The request shall be submitted to the authority designated in accordance with Section 155(2).
The applicant must prove their identity and, if acting as a legal representative, their power of representation; they may not be represented by an authorized representative when submitting the application. The authority shall collect the fee for the information, retain three-eighths of it, and transfer the remaining amount to the federal treasury.
(3) If the applicant resides outside the scope of this Act, he or she may submit the application directly to the registry authority. Paragraph 2, sentence 2 shall apply mutatis mutandis.
(4) The information may not be sent to any person other than the person concerned.
(5) The information may also be requested for submission to an authority for the purpose of preparing a decision on an application for a license to engage in a trade or other economic activity, for the issuance of a certificate of competence pursuant to Section 20 of the Explosives Act, or for the verification of reliability pursuant to Section 38 (1). If the information is requested for submission to an authority, it shall be sent directly to the authority. The authority shall grant the data subject access to the information upon request.
