BIKE CONSENSUS MAINZ

With RADKONSENS MAINZ, we are putting the promotion of cycling in our city on a solid footing for the coming years. The cycling consensus consists of the components BYPAD and RADNETZ MAINZ. On this page you will find all information on these topics.

What is the RADKONSENS MAINZ?

RADKONSENS MAINZ summarizes the process in which the city administration, together with citizens, interest groups, politicians, and specialist agencies, is developing the strategic basis for the further development of bicycle traffic.

One component of this is RADNETZ MAINZ – a plan that shows the administration, politicians, and citizens where bicycle traffic should be strengthened in the future.

The other component of RADKONSENS MAINZ is the Bicycle Policy Audit – BYPAD for short – a standardized procedure that is used throughout Europe. BYPAD uses a standardized process with a defined group of participants to develop a multi-point plan for Mainz, which is used as a quality management tool for cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. A special feature of BYPAD in Mainz is that a joint report is produced for cycling and pedestrian traffic.
