Reading: Henriette Clara Herborn reads from her novella *Four*

A girl in a cherry tree, a fleeting glance, a moment of terror—and a story that won’t let you go. Mainz-based author Henriette Clara Herborn will be at the Mainz University Library on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for a reading from her novella *Vier*.

*Four* is a coming-of-age novella about awakening, first love, the search for freedom, and the irrevocable end of childhood. With atmospheric depth and poetic precision, Herborn recounts those defining moments that divide life into a before and after. And of the enigmatic Reba, who appears like a ghost to a fourteen-year-old girl at dusk one spring evening in 1998.

Henriette Clara Herborn, born in Mainz in 1978, is a writer, journalist, and lecturer in creative writing. In March 2026, she self-published the HCH Edition, comprising eight books. A publishing project that impressively demonstrates her connection to the written word. With *Vier*, she returns thematically to the big questions of growing up and once again proves her flair for atmospheric, emotionally moving prose.
