Lecture and workshop: Composting in the garden and on the balcony
On the occasion of "Biobin Day", a lecture followed by a workshop will take place on May 26, 2026 at 6:15 p.m. in the Mainzer Umweltladen.
The presentation will explain the processes involved in composting and offer tips on how to turn waste into valuable compost. It will also introduce alternatives for balconies and city apartments, including the bokashi bucket.
Participants can build the latter themselves on-site during a group workshop. If available at home, participants may also bring their own buckets (2 pieces, stackable inside each other). Materials will be provided by Kommunale Abfallwirtschaft Mainz und Mainz-Bingen AöR.
