Manuela Matz: "A particular focus is on successfully further developing Mainz as a business hub. We have achieved a great deal in recent years, particularly in the areas of start-ups and biotechnology. It is no coincidence that Mainz has been named Germany’s most dynamic city four times in a row. Other priorities include strengthening the content and staffing of the economic development agency, developing and implementing a funding strategy, and promoting the positive development of the city center and tourism."

Manuela Matz: "One major challenge we’re currently facing is the deteriorating economic situation in Germany. A sense of uncertainty is palpable among many companies. As the head of the Economic Affairs Department, I’m closely monitoring developments and the overall mood, and I’m in close contact with the various stakeholders. We’re all committed to ensuring that Mainz remains a strong business hub. 

Another challenge is the difficult staffing situation in some departments within my division."
