Media Education Mainz is the media center of the state capital, Mainz—originally known as the Image Library and later as the AV Media Center.

Here you’ll find a number of experts in the fields of media education and media pedagogy. We are in good company with medien.rlp – Institut für Medien und Pädagogik e.V., the partner for youth and educational work in all matters related to media and pedagogy in Rhineland-Palatinate, kmb — the Mainz-Bingen District Media Center, and AVMZ—a joint institution of the dioceses of Fulda, Limburg, Mainz, Speyer, and Trier, based in Mainz, which serves to fulfill joint tasks in the field of audiovisual media work for the entire region covered by these dioceses in the federal states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.
We leverage synergies and collaborate with our in-house partners as well as, for example, with the State Institute of Education of Rhineland-Palatinate.
We lend educational media free of charge to all municipal educational institutions, advise them on its use, and provide teachers with continuing education in media pedagogy and technology.
Through our services, we aim, among other things, to promote media literacy and support you in your work.
Changes in the media landscape and the increasing use of various mobile devices in everyday school life are also reflected in our services, professional development offerings, and training programs.
We support the educational institutions of the state capital, Mainz, and its municipal departments.
