The Road Operations Division of the City Planning Office ensures that the road infrastructure of Mainz, the state capital, remains in proper, functional, and safe condition for everyone. 

This includes, for example, repairing potholes, resurfacing roadways, and overseeing and monitoring excavations by utility providers. It also encompasses the inspection and maintenance of civil engineering structures, such as bridges, retaining walls, and stairways, including the implementation of necessary renovation measures. 

According to the departmental organizational chart, the department belongs to Department V: Environment and Mobility. However, for technical reasons, you will find all information under Department VIII: Construction, Monument Preservation, and Historical Heritage.
