The certificate of no outstanding claims confirms that you have no outstanding debts owed to the City of Mainz. You will need it, for example, to register a business, obtain a license, or renew a license.

You can submit the application informally:

• in writing
• in person
• by phone
• by fax
• by email

Upon request, we will send you the certificate.

Please note: Do not confuse this clearance certificate with the tax clearance certificate issued by the tax office!

• Official identification document (ID card, passport)
• For business owners: a copy of your business registration or an extract from the commercial register

If you are submitting your application by email, please attach a scan of the front and back of your identity card or passport. Traders should attach a scan of their business registration or extract from the commercial register.

There are no fees.
