The office is responsible for the financial affairs of the state capital of Mainz. It draws up and manages the budget, determines municipal taxes, handles payment transactions and takes care of accounting. It also manages and controls the city's investments, administers the central financial software and carries out procurement procedures. Sports administration is also assigned to the office.
