The disposal of waste—including waste paper—from private households is the responsibility of public waste management authorities. These are the counties and cities not part of a county.
Waste paper collections may also be carried out by commercial or nonprofit providers (commercial or nonprofit collection).
Regulations governing the disposal of waste paper are set forth in the individual waste disposal ordinances and fee schedules.
These include, among other things, information on waste fees, waste collection schedules (collection intervals), and available pickup and drop-off systems (blue bins, paper containers, recycling centers).
