As a business owner or company, you can participate in events such as:

• trade fairs,
• exhibitions
• folk festivals, and
• markets

.

The following applies to applications:

• You can apply for confirmation of participation in accordance with the Trade Regulation Act.
• Organizers may restrict participation in markets based on the type and purpose of the market.
• When participating in these markets, you are exempt from the provisions of the Shop Opening Act, the Act on Sundays, Public Holidays, Memorial Days, and Days of Mourning, the Working Hours Act, and the Trade Regulation Act.
• If you belong to the group of participants in a specified event, you are eligible to participate unless there are objective reasons (material defects) to the contrary. Whether you belong to this group is determined by the relevant specification.

If the public administration acts as the organizer, market freedom also applies. However, municipal law (public institution) may impose public law restrictions on participants. This is done through market regulations that impose public law obligations on the persons supplying the market.

• You must belong to the group of eligible participants (applies to scheduled events).
• You must meet the conditions of participation for the respective events.
• You may be excluded if you do not possess the necessary reliability.

In order to participate in an event, you must apply to attend. You can
submit this application using an offline form or online via the online service.

If you want to apply to participate using the offline form:

• Open the corresponding PDF form.
• Fill out the application.
• Submit the required supporting documents.
• Send the application by email or post to the relevant authority.
• You will receive a confirmation of receipt from the relevant authority.
• In the case of a stand permit, you will receive a notification before the start of the event. 
• If your application is rejected, you will receive a rejection notice from the relevant authority.
• You will receive a fee notice.

If you want to apply to participate in an event via the online service:

• Go to the online service.
• Fill out the application form.
• For fast processing by the authorities, upload all necessary supporting documents.
• Your application will be reviewed by the responsible authority.
• The responsible authority will contact you if they have any questions.
• You will receive confirmation of receipt from the responsible authority by mail and/or email.
• If your application for a stall is approved, you will receive a notification approximately two months before the start of the event.
• If your application is rejected, you will receive a rejection notice from the responsible authority by mail.
• You will receive a fee notice by mail.

There is no legal application deadline. As a rule, applications must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the start of the event to ensure that they are processed in a timely manner. However, the application periods for some events are longer. After the registration deadline has passed, you can enter a replacement procedure to maintain your chance of securing a stand.
