A new green space is to be created on Sophie-Christ-Straße in Mainz-Marienborn. This area is already designated as green space in the development plan. This means that no buildings or parking lots will be built here, but rather a place to linger, relax, and meet—with as much greenery as possible, minimal sealing, and a high quality of life.

To involve citizens, an online survey was conducted from October 13 to November 16, 2025. In this context, the future green space was briefly presented and users were asked about their needs, wishes, ideas, and requirements. Taking into account the findings gathered here, preliminary planning and design planning for the new green space in Mainz-Marienborn is now being developed. Information on the results of the participation process and the preliminary and design planning will be provided on an ongoing basis via the project list of the state capital of Mainz.

• The public consultation, conducted via an online survey, took place from October 13 to November 16, 2025.

Citizen participation took place in the form of an online survey. A total of 254 citizens took part in the survey. Following this digital participation, the results were evaluated and a draft plan is currently being developed.
