Brief description

With a noise action plan, a municipality sets out goals, strategies, and concrete measures for noise reduction and for protecting quiet areas from an increase in noise. As a metropolitan area, the state capital of Mainz is obliged to draw up a noise action plan. As the responsible authority, it has developed a draft for the continuation of the existing noise action plan, which has been made public for public participation.

Citizen participation

The draft update of the noise action plan will be available for inspection at the state capital of Mainz from May 27 to July 5, 2024. Anyone interested can view it at the following locations:

  • in the Stadthaus Große Bleiche, Große Bleiche 46, reception (ground floor) and
  • at the Parks and Environment Department, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 4, Building C, ground floor, and
  • on the internet on the noise action plan project page (see "Further information" below).

Suggestions, comments, or objections can be sent in writing to the state capital of Mainz, Grün- und Umweltamt, Postfach 3820, 55028 Mainz, or by email to laermaktionsplanungstadt.mainzde, stating your residential address, by July 8, 2024. The comments received will be reviewed during the preparation of the noise action plan and, if they are relevant to the planning, taken into account.

Planned planning and implementation period

From May 27 to July 5, 2024, the draft update of the noise action plan will be available for inspection at the state capital of Mainz. Subsequently, taking into account the relevant comments from the disclosure, the noise action plan will be written and, after it has been approved by the city council, published on the project page of the "Noise Action Plan."

Expected costs

No costs are expected to be incurred for public participation.
