Integration assistance for people with disabilities

The purpose of integration assistance is to enable people with disabilities to participate in education, working life and social participation. You can apply for integration assistance in accordance with SGB IX at the Office for Social Services in Mainz.

You can receive integration assistance benefits in accordance with Sections 90 of the Social Security Code, Book IX (Part 2, SGB IX) if

  • you have a disability or
  • you are at risk of becoming disabled and
  • this significantly restricts your daily life.

Integration assistance benefits are intended to enable people with disabilities to participate fully in all areas of social life.
They are divided into four benefit groups:

  • Medical rehabilitation benefits 
  • Services for participation in education
  • Services for participation in working life
  • Social participation services

Please note that you can only apply for benefits for adults and for children and young people with physical or mental disabilities here. These individuals are entitled to benefits under Book IX of the Social Code (SGB IX). For children and young people with mental disabilities who are entitled to benefits under Book VIII of the Social Code (SGB VIII), please contact the Office for Youth and Family Affairs.
