The historic Völker Restaurant in Oppenheim was the birthplace of Paul Wallot, the architect who designed the German Reichstag. The restaurant premises house an exhibition about his life and work.

Weddings and cellar tours (also in English and French) take place in the historic 13th-century cellar complex. The classic play "Dinner for One" – in the Rheinhessen dialect – has been performed here well over 1,000 times by Rheinhessen character actors and can still be seen today. The performance is combined with a matching menu, and before the show, the audience can experience the historic Oppenheim underground on a guided tour.

Ute Völker has been cooking in the restaurant since 1999 using selected ingredients, and the wine selection is from Rheinhessen. Visitors can enjoy the view of St. Catherine's Church from the adjoining old town garden.

The result is an original offering with a unique connection to Rheinhessen, for which the jury is awarding the Best of Wine Tourism Award 2026 in the "Art and Culture" category.
