Dance Café and Fall Concert Invite Seniors to a Social Afternoon
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, two events in Mainz will offer seniors the opportunity to socialize, enjoy music, and spend time together: The Tanzcafé will take place in Hechtsheim, while the traditional fall concert for seniors is scheduled at the Haus der Jugend.
Hechtsheim Dance Café: Exercise, Socializing, and Good Vibes
The Mainz-Hechtsheim Seniors Network invites you to the Dance Café on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Catholic Parish of St. Pankratius, Georg-Büchner-Straße 1, 55129 Mainz.
The focus is on the joy of movement, social interaction, and spending time together. The event is specifically designed to include people with limited mobility.
Admission is free. Cake and beverages are available for a donation. Advance registration is required by September 29, 2026, and can be made by calling 06131 12-2755 or by emailing seniorenarbeit@stadt.mainz.de.
The event is organized by the Mainz-Hechtsheim Senior Citizens’ Network in cooperation with the “Gemeindeschwesterplus” community health nurse and the State Capital of Mainz.
Fall Concert at the Haus der Jugend
Also on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., the traditional fall concert for seniors will take place at the Haus der Jugend, Mitternachtsgasse 8, 55116 Mainz.
Under the musical direction of Nico Leikam, the Musikverein 1966 Mainz-Marienborn e.V. will present a varied program featuring world-famous film scores, concert marches, as well as swing and TV themes. The concert will be hosted by the music association’s secretary, Jürgen Haug, who will guide the audience through the afternoon with humorous commentary.
The concert will open with welcoming remarks from Christiane Gerhardt, chairwoman of the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board.
Admission is 5 euros. Admission is free for MainzPass holders.
Advance ticket sales begin on September 3, 2026. Tickets will then be available on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Mainz Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board office: Stadthaus Kaiserstraße, Kreyßig Wing, 5th Floor, Room 501a, Kaiserstraße 3–5, 55116 Mainz.
