The department is responsible for the needs-based design and further development of municipal services in the state capital of Mainz as defined in the Social Security Code. In doing so, it advises decision-makers in administration and politics.

Specifically, the department reviews existing services in terms of their usefulness for the people affected and creates new services as needed. Both the people affected and external institutions such as agencies, associations, self-help groups, interest groups, etc. are involved in the planning of services. We are well

positioned for this task with our "Life in Old Age" and "Social and Educational Planning" teams.
