Mainz market breakfast
Every year on Saturdays from March to November, the Mainz market breakfast of the Mainz winegrowers attracts many people of all generations to the city center and is now known far beyond the borders of the state capital. Taste the wines every Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm.
Enjoy Mainz wines directly from the producer—in the heart of the city, at one of Germany's most beautiful weekly markets: you can do all this at the Mainz Market Breakfast.
Whether Riesling, Silvaner, or Pinot Noir: sample wines from Mainz winemakers, who take turns serving them.
But what would breakfast be, especially a Mainz breakfast, without the accompaniments of Weck und Worscht (bread rolls and meat sausage), which you can get within walking distance at one of the many butcher's stalls? And since the people of Mainz are sociable folks, a good chat is of course also part of the experience.
When and where?
The market breakfast season starts again on March 7, every Saturday, at Trintonplatz and Fischtorplatz.
Starting March 21, Schillerplatz will join as a new venue.
The three wine stands are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Market Breakfast is open every Saturday from March through October.

A word...
The Mainz Market Breakfast is very popular at all three locations (Tritonplatz, Fischtorplatz, and Schillerplatz). The state capital of Mainz and the Mainz winemakers urge everyone to follow a few basic rules.
To ensure that the original idea—stocking up on regional delicacies at the Mainz weekly market and local restaurants on Saturdays and enjoying them together there—is not lost, we ask that you:
- Keep walkways and emergency exits clear, and follow the instructions of the assigned staff.
- Be considerate of neighboring businesses and keep the entrances to their premises clear.
- Keep the green spaces and the banks of the Rhine clean—please dispose of your trash in the designated bins or simply take it home with you.
- Return wine bottles and glasses to the wine stand for a refund of the deposit.
- Use the official restrooms! Please look for the signs at the wine stands.
Help us preserve the authentic, cozy character of the Mainz Market Breakfast!
