As a conservation breeder of two historic grape varieties, the family-run H.L. Menger winery promotes agro-biodiversity and biological diversity in its vineyards. Its own Rheinhessen cross vault, which serves as a tasting room, invites visitors to sample the wines. According to the jury, this commitment deserves a Best Of Wine Tourism Award 2020.
Sustainable hunting also plays a special role at the winery: estate owner Horst Menger, who is both a hunter and a winemaker, offers guided tours of the hunting grounds.
In addition, numerous events revolve around the enjoyment of wine and game: from courses on game processing to local herbalism by Dagmar Rückrich-Menger.
