The statistics office is responsible for the collection, procurement, processing and maintenance of statistical data in areas such as population, motor vehicles, construction activity and education, and is in charge of commissioned statistics for the federal and state governments and other institutions. These include consumer prices, tourism, viticulture, construction activity and the census. As part of data coordination, it is involved in automation projects and surveys to obtain statistical information and is responsible for the spatial organization of the urban area.
