The department handles a wide range of responsibilities: commercial law, special permits, food inspection, and consumer protection. It is responsible for public order administration, including matters related to firearms, hunting, and explosives laws, as well as events and the protection of sex workers. It also oversees public safety and order, as well as the lost and found office.

According to the departmental organizational chart, the department belongs to Department VII, Public Order and Traffic Control. For technical reasons, however, you will find all information under Department I, Mayor’s Office.
