Reminder June 3: "Running Day" in Mainz: getting active together
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Mainz will be all about Running Day. The event brings people together who have one thing in common: the joy of movement. Initiated by German Road Races (GRR), the German Athletics Association (DLV) and laufen.de, the state capital of Mainz is organizing the day of action together with the LEX running experts.
Whether you’re taking your first steps as a runner, doing regular training runs, or simply want to get active with others—Running Day invites everyone to get out and experience the energy of community. The focus isn’t on personal bests, but on running together, fresh air, new motivation, and the wonderful feeling of crossing the finish line.
Mayor and Sports Commissioner Daniel Köbler will be on site to send the participants on their way. “Running Day stands for exercise, community, and the joy of sports. That’s exactly what we want to bring to life here in Mainz,” says Köbler.
In addition, Brooks and CEP running shoes will be available to test on-site. The first 200 runners to register on-site will also receive a free scoop of ice cream at N’Eis.
“Running Day” is also the perfect way to get in the mood for the Mainz Three Bridges Run powered by BioNTech, taking place on June 21.
